The 7th Grade Maroon (A) Team traveled to Marshall for their season opener on Saturday 9/7. The Lady Panthers started out strong with a win against Marshall 25-21 and 25-18. The next game was against Bronson and they were tougher competition, the Panthers split 25-23 and 15-25. After their first set loss, spirits were low heading into the third game of the day against Pennfield. Unfortunately, we lost both sets 10-25 and 6-25. There was a lot to learn from the Pool Play games but energy was low and we lost against Northwest in the first Bracket game 21-25 and 15-25. Scoring for the Panthers were Breslyn Walniewski (2 aces), Malli Backinger (2 aces, 1 kill), Morgan Smith (2 aces, 1 block), Chloe Lewis (1 ace), Harper Backinger (3 aces, 1 block), Hailey Eicher (2 aces), Rylee Wyllis (3 aces), Nora Gough (5 aces, 1 kill), Gracie Shrock (3 aces), Addison Beshara (2 aces, 1 kill). Adding digs to help out on defense were Leah Gernard and Annabella Kaley. The Lady Panthers will host Pennfield at home on Tuesday 9/10. Come out and show your support! Go Panthers!
