Western JV Lady Panthers traveled across town to Northwest Highschool to play the
Mounties.
In the first quarter we played shut down defense and held the Mounties to 0 points. We
couldn’t get into any organized offense due to heavy pressure but managed 6 points
with some good passing.
The second quarter brought a little more offense with some key baskets from Ellie
Hackworth, Shelby Smith and Maddog, Madi Redovich. We increased our lead to 16-5.
The third quarter was a rough and physical affair. We held the Mounties to 0 points and
scored 4. A’Kierra Sanders went 2 for 2 from the line giving us more breathing room.
Madi chipped in the other 2 points for a 20-5 lead.
The 4 th quarter saw a seesaw battle with key Panthers off the bench to hold the lead.
Gianna Hageman, Imari Hicks and Sophie Gienapp all contributed to solid defense.
Maycee DeGroat ignited the bench with a 3 pointer. Final score was 28-11.
It is ALWAYS a good day to be a Panther, but more so when you beat your crosstown
rival. We will resume our season Wednesday against Harper Creek in The Den. Game
time is 5:30.
