Western JV Lady Panthers took on the Pennfield Panthers on Thursday night in the Den.

In the first quarter, we again started slow.  We went 2-6 from the free throw line and only scored 6 points.  Thanks to A’Keirra Sanders with two big steals and MadDog Madi Redovich We won the first quarter 6-5

The second quarter was different.  We started to get into some offense and had balanced scoring.  Shelby Smith hit a 3 along with another bucket. Ellie Hackworth and Maycee DeGroat scored a basket a piece.  MadDog Madi Redovich and A’Kierra Sanders made an old fashioned 3 point play by making their free throws.   We won the quarter13-6

The third quarter brought more balanced scoring.  Shelby Smith hit another 3 along with going 1-2 from the line.  Madi Redovich scored along with Gianna Hagemann.  We won the quarter 10-5

In the fourth quarter, we continued to distribute the ball.  Ellie Hackworth and A'Kierra Sanders scored four points each.  Maycee DeGroat had a great put back from her own missed shot.   We won the quarter 10-4.  

Final score 39-20.  

Team defense and balanced scoring was the key to this win.  We are currently 6-3 and 4-0 in the conference.
