The Western golf team traveled to Inverness Country Club to take on the Chelsea Bulldogs in an early season scrimmage. The Panthers could never gain any momentum, while the Bulldogs had three players shoot par. In the end, the Bulldogs overpowered the Panthers by a score of 149 to 165. While the Panthers didn't walk away with a win, it was a valuable experience for some of the young Panthers; however, it was a couple of old guys, senior Hayden Kim, and Eli Herrington, who led the way with scores of 39 and 40 respectively. Andrew Boldt fought his putter most of the round, but was able to battle to a score of 41. Bailee Porter rounded out the top 4 with a score of 45, and in their first high school duel match, newcomers Derek Vickers and Ari Maynard posted scores of 46 and 47. A personal best for both golfers!

Next up is a trip to the Coldwater Invite on Friday morning.
