Game 1
Chelsea 6 Western 2
Western unable to retain the lead heading into the 7th inning. Western led after 5 innings and gave one run in the 6th to tie it up. Chelsea capitalized on mistakes in the top of 7 to take the victory. Brody Parrott was in control on the mound once again giving up 2 hits and 0 earned runs through 5 innings. Cody Spitzer came in and threw well, giving up 4 hits and 2 earned runs through two innings. Western was only able to collect two hits in the game. Lincoln Levy and Andrew Parrott each singled as Parrott picked up an RBI. Jackson Luke threw out a runner and back picked another from behind the dish. Game 1 was a fantastic baseball game that saw Chelsea capitalize in their last at bats.
Game 2
Chelsea 9 Western 7
A reflection of game 1, Western jumped out to an early 4-0 lead after 1 to have Chelsea fight back for 2 in the 2nd. Western responded by adding 2 more in the 3rd to make the contest 6-2. Late inning walks and mistakes cost Western 6 runs in the top of the 6th that they could not recover from. Andrew Parrott started on the mound for Western allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs through 3 innings. Charlie Stevens and Lincoln Levy came in as relief for the Panthers. Jackson Luke collected 2 doubles in the contest as Brody Parrott and Luke Nally also picked up 2 hits each. D.J. VanRiper and Luke Herrington each collected 1 hit. B. Parrott picked up 3 RBI’s in the game as Nally collected 2 and Herrington 1 RBI.
Western will host Pennfield as the I-8 Conference play gets underway.
