The girls varsity soccer team came out with something to prove Monday night against the Haslett Vikings.  A year ago a strong Haslett team dominated the Panthers and handed them a 5-1 loss.  This year the Panthers were in control most of the game with a solid performance from every member of the team.  Nevaeh Hartshorn would get on the board first in the 36th minute with a brilliant feed from Freshman Ellie Hackworth.  The Panthers would hold the 1-0 lead as they went into the half.  The Panthers continued to work hard and it paid off at the 66th minute with the second goal being scored by Kadence Watson.  Lola Berdiner provided the assist.  Berdiner would strike just one minute later to put the Panthers up 3-0.  Claudia Allen sent a lofted ball to the back side of the goal where Berdiner was there to put it away.  The Panthers played pesky defense and it paid off with a shut out.  Hailey Dodd, Marina Walz, Chloee Tyler and Ellie Hackworth all started in the backline and shut down a very good Haslett attack.  Claudia Allen was awarded the Offensive Player of the Game award and Ellie Hakcworth brought home the Defensive Player of the Game honors. Shelby Vivian and Bria Frost had a combined 5 saves to preserve the clean sheet.

The Panthers will open up Conference play on Wednesday with a home game against Battle Creek Pennfield.
