JV Baseball Battled Mason

The JV baseball team's unbeaten season came to an end Thursday losing to Mason in both games of their double header.
The junior Panthers dropped game one 2-4. Chase Budd took the mound for Western, he pitched 4 innings striking out 6, walking 1 and giving up 5 hits. Offensively Isaiah Norwood led the charge with 3 hits and 1 RBI.
Game two went down to the bottom of the last inning and the Panthers couldn't hold off the Bulldogs, losing 6-7. The offense gathered 5 hits, with Budd having 2 and Aaron Chapko adding a triple. Chapko started the game pitching as well, he struck out 3 and walked 2. On defense, untimely errors put the junior Panthers in a tough situation, but the boys fought hard and just wasn't enough to get the job done.
The team has 3 double headers in the upcoming week, including a conference match-up with Marshall.
